It’s a real problem, isn’t it?

That’s what you would think before having had the conversation I had a little while ago.

I was in one of the coffee shops in Reading enjoying a nice, hot cappuccino with a few friends. Just a general catch-up, we hadn’t seen each other for some time and after going through the usual small talk one of them made a remark that stuck with me…. We switched topics pretty much immediately after that to more important things like the weather (”wouldn’t you enjoy a bit of sunshine by now?”) and what we have planned for the summer in terms of holidays. Anyway, I guess the afternoon could be summed up as the typically light-hearted conversation you have with friends over a cup of coffee.

Anyway… do you know these people around you that always seem to have a problem? It’s like they are cursed when it comes to problems and they always seem to have loads? I have a question here and it’s whether it’s possible that they create their own problems?

The ‘problematic situations’ are usually quite common and I find myself in these situations regularly, I’m sure you can think of some as you’re reading this. What is different here is that these situations are not a problem for me, surely if it’s a real problem it is a problem all the time and for everyone? If it’s not a real problem than what is it? A lack of choice and options perhaps?

It’s funny how a problem about real problems has kept me occupied since the remark “The poor guy is like a magnet, he really attracts one problem after another.” was launched over a cappuccino.
